Kushida Shrine, and Kawabata shopping arcade. Discover the rich history and vibrant culture of Hakata’s Old Town. |
Hakata Old Town is located in the heart of Fukuoka City. You can easily explore there from the Hakata Station area or the Tenjin area. | |

Ohori Park features a large pond and is a quiet oasis whithin the Fukuoka city. It is adjacent to Maizuru Park and the ruins of Fukuoka Castle, where old stone walls and the historical structures tell stories of the city’s history. You can enjoy cherry blossoms from late March to early April at Maizuru Park. Japanese garden and Fukuoka Art Museum are closed every Monday. |
Ohori Park and Maizuru Park are also located in the heart of Fukuoka City. It takes about 4 minutes by subway from Tenjin and about 10 minutes from Hakata. | |

The Villa of the lord of Fukuoka Castle features a beautiful garden and a picturesque pond that are worth seeing. Yusentei Park is closed every Monday. |
It takes about 30 minutes from Tenjin and about 45 minutes from Hakata by public bus to Yusentei Garden. |

It takes about 30 minutes by JR train from JR Hakata Station to Nanzoin Temple. | |

Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine is one of the most famous Shinto Shrines in Japan and is well known as the shrine of the deity of learning. |
It takes about 40 minutes by Nishitetsu train from Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station to Dazaifu. It takes about 50 minutes by public bus from Hakata Bus Terminal to Dazaifu. | |
